They use the power of their economic assets to buy advertisements for candidates in the "democratic" cases and of their products in all cases. Examples of this use of products would be corporate media which slants things in it's direction and corporate weapons which flow unerringly into groups who will carry out coups against democratic governments that are not to the liking of the corporate masters. When Allende nationalized 1 bank in Chile in the early 70s he was almost immediatly overthrown and murdered by U.S. backed Generalisimo Pinochett and his gang. Brutal repression followed with "death squads" "disappearing" thousands of Allende's suspected followers. Kissinger hardly minced words when it came to overthowing and murdering allende; "I don't see why we need to stand by and watch a country go Communist due to the irresponsibility of its own people." -- US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger
