Style Police Can't Protect Us.

Police in the London subway chased down an "Asian looking" man wearing baggy looking clothes, forced him to the ground, held him there while they filled his head with five bullets at point blank range. The man was guilty of nothing. Certainly nothing requiring summary public execution.

Perhaps the marriage of G.W.Bush and Tony Blair has led to this considering this has been the Modis Operandi here in the United States for a very long time. Major criminals operate with apparent immunity while the police busy themselves with harassing people who look poor or simply are dressed in the wrong style. If you want to go into a criminal business here in America, the most imprisoned country on earth, it is easy. Here in Humboldt County, California the main business is drug production. If you count pot as a drug that is, maybe even if just the methedrine production would be enough to make it the top income producer in the county. If you look at the police logs here it is full of public intoxication, suspicion of this and suspicion of that almost exclusively amongst poor people. The news on the other hand tells of unsolved murders, bank robberies and just the occasional large drug bust, often when the meth lab or other operations have revealed themselves by accident.

Here the police stop some poorly dressed folks accross the street from my house. The police also don't seem to like being photographed as can be seen by the expression on the deputies' face.

In spite of having the highest rate of imprisonment on earth the United States has amongst the highest crime rates on earth especially murder.

This is the place to come if you want to make a lot of money in a criminal enterprise. While making pot illegal in the "land of the free" you are free to grow and transport it simply by having a newer car and "nice" clothes. If you don't dress right small time drug use, pot smoking or even a pot seed will get you busted.

The chances are good that neighborhood drug producers and runners called the police on the people being checked out in the image above who were let go by the way.

Just as in the UK, the police are not 'the people's' police, nor where they ever intended to be. The [mistaken] assumption we've all made for several generations, that they are here to protect us is now increasingly dawning.

The purpose of the police is to ensure the have-nots don't trouble the haves. They don't maintain law & order so much as maintain the status quo - in other words they keep we munchkins in our place.
